Who's ready to go on an adventure next summer?! I am so excited to share information on the tour planned for Summer 2020 with Explorica, Scotland and Ireland! This 15-day tour will take you to some of the most popular - and gorgeous - destinations the British Isles have to offer.
Explorica promotes teacher led tours that are meant to immerse you in the local cultures of your destination. If you've never heard of them before, check out my post detailing my experiences.
WHEN?
June 22 - July 6, 2020
WHERE?
Ireland: Belfast, Dublin, Galway, Blarney, and Killarney (Ring of Kerry)
WHAT'S INCLUDED?
- Round-trip airfare
- All transportation
- Guided sightseeing tours and site visits
- Breakfast and dinner daily
- Full-time tour director(s)
- All hotels and lodging
- Tips for the tour director(s) and bus driver(s)
I have to say, I'm really pleased that Explorica listened to the feedback from previous trips and included the tips into the cost on this one. It was one of the drawbacks I previously mentioned in my post about traveling with Explorica. It is much easier having everything lumped together!

Under 23 years - $ 4,913* per person
23 years and over - $ 5,623* per person
*Reserve your spot by 12/19/19 for this price using code Robinson150. After 12/19/19, costs increase by $150 per person.
For an adult, that comes out to around $375 per day for just about everything! If you don't include the average cost of flights round trip (we'll estimate on the current rates of $1,300), that comes down to around $240 per day for hotel, transportation, tips, breakfast, dinner, fees for site visits, and a private tour guide who stays with you during the entire trip. For all that you get, it's a great price!
PAYMENT OPTIONS
- $50 deposit to register
- Balance divided into equal monthly payments up to 35 days before departure
- $99 deposit to register
- 30 days after registration - payment of $500 is due
- 105 days before departure - 75% of balance is due
- 65 days before departure - remainder of balance is due
- Full cost is pain in full at time of registration
Personally, I went with the manual option last year because it gave me more flexibility to pay on it any time I had extra money and with any payment method. There is also a shareable link where family and friends can donate directly towards your balance! We used this last year so that family could just contribute directly towards Scarlett's trip rather than give her gifts for her birthday and Christmas.
There is also a financial assistance application which can take an additional $150 off of the total cost. All applications are confidential. More information on financing can be found here.

Anyone over the age of 6! Although Explorica is primarily marketed towards students, anyone of school age and older are welcome. You can come as a single adult, a family, or even just send your student in the care of many chaperones. This will be my third year traveling with Scarlett and I love that Explorica gives adults the option to join! However, as a parent, I can also say that I would whole-heartedly trust Scarlett without me in the hands of some amazing group leaders.
Not only are these trips a great learning experience for all ages, but they also provide opportunity to earn academic and professional credits. More information about these features can be found here.
RESERVE YOUR SPOT
To register for this amazing trip, click here or go to www.explorica.com/Robinson-8206 and click "Sign up now."
If you are registering for multiple people, each person will need to be registered individually under different emails (one account per person, per email).
Also, don't panic about room arrangements when signing up! They are flexible and done by tour leaders when we arrive at the destination so that no one will feel uncomfortable. So far, I have had rooms by myself as well as shared one with Scarlett only.
An official copy of the brochure with additional details, can be found here.
I hope you will join us on this next adventure!
